Partner opens the bidding - with your 6 HCP point count the only bid is 1NT (6-9 HCP ). All Pass.

Acol Bidding

Partner opens 1NT - you have nothing to add with only 6 HCP and then the opposition doubles ("X") as his first bid this is probably for takeout but his partner East leaves the double in! From east's non response you can be fairly sure that east and west have good points and think they have a good chance to take your contract light.

Plan Before You Play

Dummy is laid down and you see that the danger suit is Hearts, you need to be careful with this suit. As soon as possible you want to lose your losers in your diamonds before losing control in the hearts and spade suits.

The Play

Lead low from dummy to the Queen/Jack of Diamonds because you do not want to be blocked in your hand when all the little diamonds in dummy are established, also you need to be in declarers hand to finesse the Queen of Clubs

With this hand you can make either 1D or 2NT.
In 1NT you get 4 Diamond tricks, 2 club tricks, 2 heart tricks and 1 heart trick. If opposition lead a heart, win with the KH lose the AD, and the rest of the heart suit leads then win the club return with QC and win all the tricks except the AS.
