Plan Before You Play

The correct opening lead and saving your small cards in the correct suits helps you to take this contract light

The Play

Opening Lead is your low diamond the unbid suit, they win and play AH and AC and then to diamonds play low to the second round of clubs which partner wins leading back JD which you cover with QD lead a spade and partner wins the next three tricks, and the opponents win the last 3 tricks

Comment

You can get a top board by ensuring you keep the opposition to as few tricks as possible.Leading a spade the opposition make 9 tricks. Leading a heart they make 8 tricks. Lead a low diamond and you take them light!!!!! lead your top club and they make 8 tricks lead your bottom club and they make 8 tricks. Partner playing low when second to play to the trick and careful counting of cards allow you to take a solid contract light. East throws his KH under the AH in order to stay in his hand as he only has 2 other entries (QS and AC) to his hand

The above commentary is intended as a guideline only. As with any Bridge hand there are many ways to bid and play any hand.
