Bidding

You open 1NT; All pass

Acol Bidding

Open 1C the opposition enter the bidding but you should rebid 1NT showing partner 15-16 HCP. Partner rebids your club suit; All pass

Plan Before You Play

In 1NT plan to draw the oppositions AC and run the clubs and spades avoiding leading the diamonds and hearts

If you end up in In 2C plan to draw the AC and run the clubs and spades avoiding leading the hearts and hopefully ruffing a small diamond.

The Play

In 1NT on the spade lead play the 10S in dummy, lead a low club from dummy, win the second diamond return, run all your club and spade winners discarding your last diamond. lead a low heart from your hand up to wards the KH duck when west produces the AH lose 2 more diamonds and win the heart return.

In 2C win the second diamond lead and ruff a small diamond in dummy before drawing 1 round of trumps. Win the second heart return; another round of trumps and lead a low heart from dummy to the JH

Comment

In 1 NT this hand can make 9 tricks (150 points). In 2C it can make 10 tricks (only 110 points).
