Plan Before You Play
You and your partner are on defense and must work together to take as many tricks as possible for your points. You and partner will be on Defense about 50% of the time in any competition so we have developed a series of Defensive Play Lessons to help learn the general principles. Without going into too much detail - usually you lead a suit that you hope you and your partner may have winners in rather than leading a suit the opposition have winners. So in this situation avoid leading the spade and diamond suits the opposition bid, now you have to choose, do you lead hearts or clubs for your opening lead?
The Play
Its your turn to make the opening lead so the unbid suit is a good place to start and then after that your longest and strongest suit opening leads Lead out the 7C. Every time you win the lead play a club when the clubs are exhausted switch to
Comment
At opening lead lead the 7C, on your second lead play KC and then a low club to partner, you logic is if partner has no side entries this will allow him to run his long club suit
The above commentary is intended as a guideline only. As with any Bridge hand there are many ways to bid and play any hand.
