Plan Before You Play
Dummy goes down and in 2NT count your winners. Three in spades, 0 in hearts, 1 in diamonds and 1 in clubs - so five losers only to make your contract. Finessing the diamond and club suits appear to offer your best chances. you also hope that the spades are divided 3-3 (unlikely as 60% of the time they are unevenly distributed)
The Play
Win the heart lead with JH. Lead out 7S which is taken by east. Win the diamond return with QD. Lead another low spade and lose. Cover the KC return with AC and QC and JC are now high. Play AD and a low diamond (now the 7D is high). Win the club return with JC and AH, KH, QC 7D and the last trick goes to the opponents.
Comment
Sometimes its best to just leave things alone. 2NT makes 9 tricks.
The above commentary is intended as a guideline only. As with any Bridge hand there are many ways to bid and play any hand.
