Plan Before You Play

In a suit contract count your losers, Spades:1, Hearts:0, Diamonds:1, Clubs:0. Plan to discard your losing spades on your long club suit.

The Play

In 6H (better because it gives more points), AD lead, lose first trick and win the diamond return. Play KH and QH, then cross to your hand and draw 2 more rounds of trumps. The rest of the tricks are yours.

Comment

The contracts 6C,6H and 6NT all make 12 tricks.

The above commentary is intended as a guideline only. As with any Bridge hand there are many ways to bid and play any hand.
